Easy Programming for the Yaesu FTM-10R
Programming a Frequency - Simplex
To dial a frequency in 1 MHz steps press and hold down for one second either the up or down arrow key
on the front panel.
1. Press the front panel ▲/▼ keys to the desired band.
2. Press the front panel ► to change the frequency.
3. Rotate the DIAL knob to the desired frequency. (See the next section to change the Frequency
Step).
Changing the Frequency Step
1. Press and hold the [VOL/SEL] key for one second.
2. Rotate the DIAL knob to Menu Item "F41 STEP".
3. Press the front panel ► key.
4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the desired step size:
5.00, 6.25, 8.33, 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 20.0, 25.0, 50.0, 100.0, 200.0 KHz or AUTO.
5. Press the [VOL/SEL] key to save the setting.
Storing Frequency in Memory
1. Press and hold the small ► on the front panel for one second.
2. A "MIN" notation will appear on the display in the upper left and will blink. If nothing is done the
radio will return to the VFO mode.
3. With five (5) seconds of pressing the small ► on the front panel, press it again, this time briefly,
to store the frequency displayed into the memory location. The "MIN" will disappear (since you
are operating in the VFO mode).
FTM-10R can memorize the following items with the frequency at the same time:
Memory Group Information
Alpha-numeric Memory Channel Tag
Repeater Shift (Direction and Shift Frequency)
CTCSS/DCS Squelch System and its frequency and code
Transmit Output Power Level
Scan Mode (Skip Scan or Preferential Scan)
Frequency Step
Semi-Diplex (Odd) frequency
Receiving Mode (AM or FM)
Programming a PL for a Repeater
1. Recall the memory channel where you wish to program the CTCSS (PL) frequency.
2. Press and hold the front panel ► key for one second.
3. Rotate the DIAL knob to "M8 SQL TSQF".
4. Press the front panel ► key to display the current CTCSS Tone Frequency.
5. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the desired CTCSS Tone Frequency.
6. Press the [VOL/SEL] key to save the new setting. You will be returned to the memory recall
mode.
