Carburetor

The carburetor is an important part of
the engine and its emission control
system, which requires very sophisti-
cated adjustment. Therefore, carbure-
tor adjustments should be left to
Yamaha dealer, who has the necessary
professional knowledge and experi-
ence.

Checking the engine idling
speed
Check the engine idling speed and, if
necessary, have it corrected by a
Yamaha dealer.
Engine idling speed:
1350–1450 r/min

Checking the throttle grip free

play

Measure the throttle grip free play as
shown.
1. Throttle grip free play
Throttle grip free play:
3.0–5.0 mm (0.12–0.20 in)
Periodically check the throttle grip free
play and, if necessary, have a Yamaha
dealer adjust it.
