10. Before commissioning

m CAUTION:
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
10.1
Check before operation
• Check all sides of the engine for oil or fuel leaks.
• Check the fuel level – - the tank should be at least half-full.
• Check the condition of the air filter.
• Check the condition of the fuel lines.
• Look for signs of damage.
• Check that all protective covers are in place and all screws,
nuts and bolts are tightened.
• Handles must be clean and dry, free of oil and dirt – impor-
tant for safe guidance of the power tool.
• Check the smooth running of all moving parts.
• Prepare the device for the respective use and make sure
that all parts are correctly assembled.
10.2
Fuel and oil
Recommended fuels
This device is equipped with a two-stroke engine that requires
a mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil.
The use of petrol alone will damage the engine and invalidate
the warranty.
Use only a mixture of unleaded petrol and special 2-stroke
engine oil.
Mix the fuel-oil mixture as per the fuel mixing table.
Use only high quality fuels and oils to maintain high perfor-
mance and guarantee the service life of the mechanical parts
over time.
10.2.1 Suitable petrol
Use only unleaded petrol (min. RON 95).
Note
Unleaded petrol tends to form deposits in the storage con-
tainer and tank if stored for longer than 1 month. Always use
fresh petrol!
10.2.2 Suitable oil
Use only high-quality 2-stroke engine oil. Suitable oils are
available from specialist retailers.
Prepare a fuel-oil mixture in a ratio of 1 to 40 in accordance
with the fuel mixture table.
Note
Do not use 2-stroke oil that recommends a mixing ratio of
100:1. The engine guarantee of the manufacturer becomes
invalid in the event of damage to the engine due to insufficient
lubrication.
Never use oil for 4-stroke engines or water-cooled 2-stroke
engines. This can cause the spark plug to become fouled, the
exhaust part to become blocked or the piston ring to become
stuck.
10.2.3 Mixing fuel
The engine must be operated with a fuel mixture of petrol and
engine oil.
WARNING!
Avoid direct skin contact with fuel and inhalation of fuel va-
pours.
WARNING!
Petrol and the fuel-oil mixture are highly flammable!
• Use only designated and approved vessels for the transport
and storage of fuel.
• Keep fuel tanks out of reach of children.
• Do not smoke when dealing with fuel.
Use only a mixture of unleaded petrol (min. RON 95) and
special 2-stroke engine oil (JASO FD/ISO - L - EGD). Mix the
fuel mixture as per the fuel mixing table.
Put the correct amount of petrol and 2-stroke oil into the en-
closed mixing bottle (27) (see "Fuel mixing table"). Then
shake the mixing container (27) well.
