SANDING DRUM MODEL AC2030
To be Used on: RIDGID radial saws, drill presses - maximum speed -
3450 R.P.M.
Safety Instructions for Sanding Drum
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, read and understand this
instruction sheet and owners man-
ual for the saw or drill press. If you
don't have one contact the manufac-
turer.
1. Never operate with the fence between
you and sanding drum.
2. A kickback may occur if the workpiece
is confined between the sanding drum
and fence or when positioned horizon-
tal and the workpiece under the drum.
Kickbacks can cause serious injury.
3. Never feed drum into or over workpiece
with the carriage. Grabbing, loss of
control, possible injury and damage to
drum or machine may result.
Radial Saws
1. When installed, the sanding drum must
be attached directly on the 1/2" acces-
sory shaft and must not exceed 3450
R.P.M. Do not use any other adapters
or key chucks.
Drill Presses
1. Drill Press Work Arbor AC6010 is
required to mount the sanding drum on
the drill press.
2. When installing the AC2030 sanding
drum make sure the 3/4" hex nut is
backed off at least 1/8" from the flange

4. Always fed against direction of rotation.
5. Avoid awkward hand positions.
6. Do not apply excessive loads to the
sander drum-loads that cause much
reduction in speed are too heavy.
Extended use in this way could cause
burning of the workpiece and possible
bending of the adapter or mounting
shaft.
7. If the drum sander starts to vibrate,
stop work immediately, turn switch "Off"
and pull plug to power source. Deter-
mine the cause and correct before pro-
ceeding.
2. When installed, verify that no play
exists in the carriage, and that arm,
yoke, and bevel locks/clamps are tight
before starting work.
