Installing and servicing this equipment requires access to parts which may cause electrostatic shock or other

always follow the Pressure Relief Procedure Warning on page 14 before checking, adjusting, cleaning or re-
pairing the gun or any part of the system.
NOTE: Check all possible remedies in the Troubleshooting Charts before disassembling the gun.

Spray Pattern Troubleshooting

NOTE: Some improper patterns are caused by the improper balance between air and fluid.
PROBLEM:
IMPROPER SPRAY
PATTERN
Fluttering or spitting spray
Irregular pattern
Pattern pushed to one side; air
cap gets dirty
Tails in pattern
Excessive paint build-up on air
cap and tip guard
* Use least air/fluid pressure needed for good results.

Troubleshooting

WARNING
CAUSE
Fluid pressure or supply too low
Loose or cracked coupler at fluid inlet
Air in fluid supply line
Fluid build-up or spray tip partially
plugged
Damaged or worn fluid tip or air cap
holes
Air cap holes partially or totally plugged
Atomization air pressure too low
Fluid pressure too low
Atomization air pressure too high
Fluid pressure too low
SOLUTION
Adjust fluid regulator or fill fluid tank
Tighten or repair
Check; Tighten siphon hose connections;
Bleed air from fluid line
Clean spray tip; See page 20
Replace damaged or worn part; See page 31
Clean air cap holes with solvent and soft
brush; See page 20
Increase atomization air pressure*
Increase fluid pressure with gun fluid regulator*
Reduce atomization air pressure*
Increase fluid pressure with gun fluid regulator*
