- Page 5 Step 7 – Wire Lock • Lay your wire base down the length of the house. • By using either a 1/8" drill bit or tekscrew, pre-drill the aluminum base for the wood screws every 18". • Start the wire base 1 1/2" in from the end of the board. This leaves room for the base that goes over the first and last bow.
