When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
- Do not use the unit, store, or charge battery outdoors or on wet surfaces. Do not allow to get wet.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children age 12 and under. Close supervision is necessary when used by or near children. To avoid injury or damage, keep children away from product, and do not allow children to place fingers or other objects into any openings.
- Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
- Do not use charger with damaged cord or plug. If appliance or charger is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, take it to a service center prior to continuing use.
- Do not pull or carry charger by cord, use cord as handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not place product on cord. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug charger by pulling on cord. To unplug charger, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle charger, including charger plug, and charger terminals with wet hands.
- Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Do not place cleaner on stairs or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage.
- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
- Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
- Do not use without filters and/or dirt cup in place.

This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm. WASH HANDS AFTER USING. - Do not incinerate the charger, battery, or appliance even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.
- Do not expose battery to crushing, incineration or similar actions.
- Do not dispose of battery in a fire or trash compactor. See battery disposal section for directions.
- Do not attempt to disassemble battery.
- Unplug the charger from the outlet before any routine cleaning or maintenance.
- Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If any liquid gets on the skin wash quickly with soap and water. If any liquid gets into the eyes, immediately flush them with clean water continuously for a minimum of 15 minutes. Seek medical attention immediately.
- Use only the charger specified to recharge.
- Do not attempt to short circuit the battery or charger terminals.
- The charger is for indoor use only. Be sure to always keep the battery and charger in a dry place.
- Put product away after use to prevent tripping accidents.

To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts – Do not operate the product without dirt container in place. Keep hair away from rotating brush. - Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack, picking up or carrying the appliance. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the switch or energizing appliance that have the switch on invites accidents.
A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury. - This product includes rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130°C may cause explosion.

Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire. - Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
- Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the battery pack (as applicable) except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
- Appliance battery use temperature range: -10°C - 60°C (14°F - 140°F).
- Appliance Battery storage temperature range: -20°C-60°C (-4°F - 140°F).
- Recommended temperature range for charging: 5°C-45°C (41°F - 113°F).
- Use only the charger supplied by Royal Appliance to recharge. For 16V batteries use 440008693 and for 20V batteries use 440009713.

- Store appropriately indoors in a dry place. Do not expose machine to freezing temperatures.

HOW TO USE
- Slide the power switch to the ON position.

- After using to clean, slide the power switch to the OFF position.

- When using for wet pick-up application, avoid tilting the unit backwards. Do not let liquid sit in dirt cup after use. Empty immediately.
NOTE: Empty dirt cup after each use or until full. Check the filter to see if it needs cleaned. Refer to page #10 for filter details.
CHARGING
NOTE: Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.
TIP: For a better experience, fully charge the unit before first use.
- Power switch must be in the OFF position.
NOTE: The unit can only charge when the switch is in the OFF position.
NOTE: If the unit is running and the charger plug is connected to the unit, the unit will shut off to prevent damage to the charger or unit.

- The charge indicator light will pulse when charging and the indicator will turn off when charging is complete.
NOTE: The charge indicator will only turn on while charging. The charger will be warm while charging.
NOTE: The unit will charge only for as long as needed. It may take up to 6 hours for full charge.

- Flip the crevice tool out and push in to clean cracks and crevices.

- To store crevice tool: gently pull the tool away from the dust cup and flip the tool up toward the unit & press down until you feel it lock into place.

SQUEEGE
Easily clean up wet messes on hard surfaces.
- Push rubber squeegee into hand vac nozzle to attach.
- To remove squeegee, gently pull tool away from the hand vac.

To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts, remove powered brushroll before cleaning or servicing.
*Not standard on all models
FILTER REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
TIP: To maintain performance, filter should be changed every 3-6 months, or as needed.
- While holding the dirt cup and handle, press dirt cup release button.
- Remove the dirt cup to access filter.
- Remove filter assembly from dirt cup & separate the foam filter from the filter housing.
Tap filter over a trash can to remove debris. Be sure to also wipe debris from the filter housing.
NOTE: Do not discard filter or filter housing.

- Put the filter back into the filter housing and place filter assembly back into the dirt cup. Reassemble dirt cup to body, align bottom first and rotate up until it clicks.

NOTE: Filter is rinseable with water. Do not use soap/detergent. Let filter air dry for 24 hours or until completely dry.
LUBRICATION The motor is equipped with bearings which contains sufficient lubrication for its lifetime. The addition of lubricant could cause damage. Do not add lubricant to motor.
