GENERAL INFORMATION

The mesh network OST2630 is a battery operated
compact wireless outside air temperature sensor.
The sensor is housed in a NEMA4 enclosure and can
be mounted anywhere in the shaded area outside of
a building.
If needed, the distance from the sensor to the
receivers can be extended using the ACI RR2552
repeater.
ACI's mesh network wireless sensors utilize reliable
Spread Spectrum Radio technology. They can be
installed easily in minutes eliminating hundreds of
feet of wire and saving installation cost while
reducing installation labor risks.
The sensor Data-Link LED con rms the data transmission was received by the receiver for fast and reliable
positioning of the sensor during installation. There is no need for special wireless installation equipment
or tool.
Together with the ACI receivers and controllers, the ACI wireless sensors can be used with any LON, BacNet,
MODbus, or DDC control system or panel.
Transmission distance in a typical building is 200-300 feet horizontal depending on the layout and
construction of the building, and one oor above and one oor below the transceiver. Sensor distance and
reliability can be increased with the addition of a RR2552B(s) repeater.
For optimal temperature readings, follow these tips:
• Avoid mounting to chimney walls, above windows, above vents, near doors, or dampers.
• Mount at least 1'-2' (0.3-0.6 m) below eave to prevent thermal radiation from a ecting performance –
see FIGURE 2 (p. 2).
• Mount at least 4' (1.22 m) above ground to prevent thermal radiation rising up a ecting performance.
• Mount in shade on North side of the structure to minimize sun exposure. In the Southern hemisphere
the South side of the building is where the sensor should be mounted.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Wireless sensors should be installed within 200 to 300 feet of the receiver. RR2552 signal repeaters can be
installed as to increase transmission distance between sensors and receivers.
CAUTION:
Observe battery polarity when installing battery.
