FOOT THROTTLE CONTROL

The foot throttle control is an optional accessory available only for the concealed side mount
control.
The default configuration for a concealed side mount control is to use the hand throttle input.
Foot Throttle Operation
When the foot throttle is selected, the control handle input is used only for gear selection.
Throttle control is only taken from the foot pedal position.
During the power on sequence, the control will determine whether the foot or hand throttle in-
put is the selected.
Foot Throttle Control Transfer
Control of throttle input may be transferred between the hand and foot inputs using:
• the Evinrude Diagnostics program - see your authorized dealer.
• the Evinrude digital touch screen display - see display user's guide.
Control transfer to or from the foot throttle can only be initiated when the control and outboard
EMM are at NEUTRAL idle (outboard running or not running). The throttle source selection is
retained in the remote control.
Foot Throttle Control NEUTRAL Selected Gear Position
When the hand control lever is in NEUTRAL, there will be no restrictions on the foot pedal
command. A NEUTRAL revolution limiter will be enforced if the commanded load results in
excessive outboard speed.
Foot Throttle Control Forward/Reverse Selected Gear Position
When the control lever is changing from FORWARD or REVERSE position to NEUTRAL (or
the opposite direction) and foot pedal is requesting a throttle command of 5% or greater, the
system will enter a neutral idle state until the control lever returns to the neutral idle position.
