This manual on the ZIP4x4 can be used by a user who wants to understand in detail how features and functions of the phone operate. End users who do not need the depth of information contained in this manual (which is about 150 pages) should refer to the ZIP4x4 User’s Guide (which is 12 pages).

The phone uses an Ethernet switch (not a hub) to connect the three accessory ports and the phone itself to the LAN. Therefore, the ZIP4x4 can control the QoS to ensure that voice packets always have priority. Further, when the phone is not in use, the ZIP4x4 supports wire speed switching between the LAN (network) and the accessory ports.
