Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
The Brew Basket overflows.
Coffee sediment is
being deposited into
the Carafe.
The appliance
brews slowly.
The appliance does not
brew all water in the
reservoir.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
The Carafe has
been removed for
longer than 30 seconds
when using the
Sneak-a-Cup feature.
An excessive amount of
coffee has been used.
The coffee is
being brewed with
softened water.
The filter and/or the
Brew Basket are not
placed properly.
Coffee grounds are
small enough to pass
through the
permanent filter.
The appliance
needs cleaning.

SOLUTION
Make sure to replace
the Carafe within
30 seconds during the
brewing cycle.
Reduce the amount of
coffee used.
Always brew with cold,
filtered water.
Insert the filter and
Brew Basket properly.
While it is normal
to see some coffee
sediment when using
a permanent filter,
a coarser grind can
reduce the amount
of sediment.
Follow the instructions
in the "Auto-Clean
System" section. More
than one cleaning cycle
may be required if the
appliance is heavily
calcified.
