3.3.1. Conveyance method
• Leave the packing materials on until the unit is at the installation site.
• Remove the packing hardware and dispose of it.
• Be careful not to dispose the accessories.
Unit is packed upside down.

3.3.2. Installing hangers
Suspend the indoor unit by referring to the following fi gures.

The side of the unit that holds the drain port A should be slightly lower than the opposite
side of the unit B. The slant should allow from 0 to 13/16 in (0 to 20 mm) of difference
between A and B.

3.3.4. Mounting the duct
Follow the procedure in the following fi gure to install the ducts.

To prevent people from touching the parts inside the unit, be sure to install grilles on
the inlet and outlet ports. The grilles must be designed in such a way that cannot be
removed without tools.
The static pressure outside the unit is as follows.
AAUA48TLAV: 0.20 to 0.74 in WG (50 to 185 Pa)
AAUA72TLAV: 0.20 to 0.80 in WG (50 to 200 Pa)
If an intake duct is installed, take care not to damage the temperature sensor (the
temperature sensor is attached to the intake port fl ange).

• A net is affi xed to the air inlet to prevent biological invasion (locally purchased).
• The duct on the air inlet should be inclined to prevent rainwater from entering into the
inside of this unit.
• An air fi lter is not included with this unit. When constructing the duct, install an air fi lter
(locally purchased) at the appropriate position on the air inlet side. The air fi lter should
have a rating of no less than MERV 8.
• To prevent condensation , heat insulation must be performed on the duct.
Be sure to install the air fi lter in the air inlet. If the air fi lter is not installed, the heat
exchanger may be clogged and its performance may decrease.
4. PIPE INSTALLATION
Be more careful that foreign matter (oil, water, etc.) does not enter the piping than with
refrigerant R410A models. Also, when storing the piping, securely seal the openings
by pinching, taping, etc.
While welding the pipes, be sure to blow dry nitrogen gas through them.
