When the tape cannot be detected automatically, the switch

NTSC mode

NOTES:
● The tape speed depends on the type of the received TV color
system or the type of the video format of the tape to be played
back. If it is PAL-N system, SP or LP appears on the TV screen.
If it is NTSC system, SP or EP appears on the TV screen.
● When you do not receive an NTSC broadcast or playback an
NTSC tape in NTSC mode, nothing appears on the TV screen.
ACCESS MAIN MENU

Press MENU.
ACCESS FUNCTION SET
SCREEN
Move the highlight bar (arrow) to "FUNCTION SET" by
pressing CH 5 ∞ or PUSH JOG % fi , then press OK or
PUSH JOG #.
ACCESS VIDEO SYSTEM
SET SCREEN
Move the highlight bar
(arrow) to "VIDEO
SYSTEM" by pressing CH
5 ∞ or PUSH JOG % fi ,
then press OK or PUSH
JOG # to set to "AUTO",
"PAL-N" or "NTSC".
RETURN TO NORMAL
SCREEN
Press MENU.
WHEN YOU USE
Normally set to the "AUTO" position.
AUTO mode detects the type of the received
TV color system or the type of the video format
of the tape to be played back automatically.
Use this mode when you playback an NTSC
tape on an NTSC TV set (or duplicate a tape
from an NTSC VCR).
Use this mode when you playback an PAL-N
tape on a PAL-N TV set (or record a video
signal in the PAL-N system).
