Connecting other speakers
You can connect other speakers than the speakers specific for this system.
However, ELS Surround sound cannot be properly played back.
When connecting other speakers
n Auto speaker setup
• When the subwoofer is connected, make sure it is turned on. (There are subwoofer models that turn off automatically.)
• Such factors as speaker types, room conditions and speaker placement may cause the unit to set speaker size, lowpass filter frequency and other
items differently for the same type of speakers or produce settings that differ from the actual characteristics of respective speakers.
When sound from speakers seems odd, check the following settings. When you find undesirable settings, correct them manually.
See "Setting speakers and their sizes", "Setting distances" and "Setting the lowpass filter" (á page 39).
• When left and right speakers differ in size, they are set as "SMALL".
• When surround speakers and surround back speakers differ in size, they are set as "SMALL".
n Playback
• The unit is compatible with linear PCM 7.1 channel surround signals decoded by the BD player and other equipment (up to 96 kHz/
24 bit). See the operating instructions for equipment used for playback.
