4 Gateway Monitoring This section contains basic techniques that allow you to diagnose and resolve unusual activity that you may notice when monitoring your R900 Gateway v3 (Gateway) system. Monitoring the Gateway To monitor your Gateway, complete the following steps: Log in to the FTP site.
Files Appear in Readings Folder If all your files appear in the readings folder, they all should have been changed to an extension defined by the N_SIGHT R900 software. This means that the database service has processed the files and put them into the N_SIGHT R900 (formerly known as ARB N_SIGHT AMR) database.
If a file appears as a .TAR file, this means that it has not been processed, and the database service is not running, or there is an improper definition in the N_SIGHT R900 software. Someone in your IT department should look at the SQL Anywhere – N_SIGHT R900 service located on your server.
5 Troubleshooting This section provides possible symptoms, areas of focus, and actions that you can take to try to resolve problems that could arise with your R900 Gateway v3 (Gateway) unit. Performance Troubleshooting Refer to the following table to troubleshoot performance or failure issues:...
The Gateway uses the following DC power cable for both the solar power and UPS option: • 12 Vdc Power Cable (for solar or UPS), Neptune Part No. 13065-000 Disconnect the power plug to the Gateway. See Figure 68. Figure 68 Gateway Power Plug Using a voltmeter, verify that there is 12 Vdc present between pins C (+) and D (-) on the power plug.
In addition, the green LED D501 should begin flashing to indicate that the unit is receiving MIU readings. However, in areas where the MIU density is high, this green light may remain on constantly to indicate a high volume of MIU RF traffic. R900 Gateway v3 Installation and Maintenance Guide...
However, some cellular services do require a SIM card, such as GSM (EDGE and GPRS). Verify with the cellular service provider. Figure 70 Cellular Modem Front View Figure 71 Cellular Modem Back View R900 Gateway v3 Installation and Maintenance Guide...
