Useful Information
Problem
The caller list/incoming
phone numbers are not
edited automatically.
I cannot dial the phone
number edited in the
caller list.
The display exits the
caller list while searching.

Answering system

Problem
I cannot listen to
messages from a remote
location.
The other party
complains that they
cannot leave a voice
message.
"E" flashes and the
ANSWER ON indicator
flashes rapidly. No new
messages are recorded.
I cannot operate the
answering system.
During message
playback, the unit rings
and cancels playback.
The message indicator
on the handset flashes
slowly.
When you play back
messages or turn on the
answering system, the
base unit and handset
announce the day and
time incorrectly.

Cause & solution
L The Caller ID number auto edit feature is turned off.
Turn it on and try again (page 39).
L You need to call back the edited number to activate
Caller ID number auto edit.
L The phone number you dialed might have an incorrect
edited pattern (for example, the long distance "1" or the
area code is missing). Edit the phone number with
another pattern (page 28).
L The handset automatically exits after 1 minute of
inactivity.
Cause & solution
L A touch tone phone is required for remote operation.
L Press the remote code correctly and press each key
firmly (page 50).
L The answering system is off. Turn it on (page 51).
L The recording time is set to "Greeting only". Select
"1min", "2min", or "3min" (page 53).
L The memory is full. Erase unnecessary messages
(page 47).
L Message memory is full. Erase unnecessary messages
(page 47).
L Someone is operating the answering system.
L If someone is talking on a conference call, you cannot
operate the answering system. Try again later.
L A call is being received. Answer the call and start again
from the beginning after hanging up.
L New messages have been recorded. Listen to the new
messages (page 47) or turn the message alert off (page
53).
L Set the date and time again (page 16).
