Operation

Before getting started

Read the "Safety" chapter from page EN-4.
Set up and connect the appliance as
described in chapter "Start-up" from
page EN-28.
Switching the appliance on
and off
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If the cooling appliance has been trans-
ported horizontally, lubricant from the
compressor may get into the cooling
circuit.
■ Allow the appliance to stand upright
for approx. 2 hours after transport
and before connecting.
Switching on
To switch the appliance on, insert the
mains plug into the socket.
The compressor starts to work, the refrig-
erant flows through the pipes and a quiet
humming sound can be heard.
The indicators on the control panel illumi-
nate for 3 seconds.
If the appliance makes unusual noises,
check that it is on a solid base and re-
move any objects that are on top of the
appliance.
Switching off
To switch the appliance off, pull the mains
plug out of the socket.
If the appliance is switched off, leave
the doors open slightly to avoid mould
formation.

Setting the temperature

CAUTION
Health hazard!
The appliance may not operate proper-
ly if exposed to low ambient tempera-
tures for extended periods of time. The
temperature may increase in the fridge
and freezer which may cause the foods
stored within to spoil more quickly.
■ Always ensure the prescribed ambi-
ent temperature is maintained (see
"Intended use" on page EN-4).
If you set a lower temperature, you will
require greater refrigeration perfor-
mance. This increases energy con-
sumption.
Switching on for the first time
When the appliance is switched on the first
time, the standard temperature setting is 5 °C
for the fridge and –18 °C for the freezer.
All indicators on the display will also illumi-
nate for a couple of seconds; the control pan-
el is locked.
Locking/unlocking the control
panel
To unlock the control panel, press and
hold the MODE button (22) for around
3 seconds. The "Button lock active" in-
dicator (19) will disappear, a beep will
sound and the control panel will unlock.
To lock the control panel, press and hold
the MODE button (22) for around 3 sec-
onds. The "Button lock active" indica-
tor (19) will appear, a beep will sound and
the control panel will lock.
