To unload a tape cartridge

Procedure
Press the unload button.
NOTE:
Unload times may vary, depending on the amount of tape which needs to be rewound.

Use of a cleaning cartridge

When the drive detects certain error conditions, the drive will request that a cleaning cartridge is loaded.
The LED flashes amber (at a 1 Hz rate) and displays C on the single-character display to indicate that a
cleaning cartridge should be loaded. When the cleaning operation is completed, the drive ejects the
cleaning cartridge. The LTO Ultrium Cleaning Cartridge is valid for 50 cleaning cycles if only used in LTO
Ultrium drives. The cartridge LTO-CM tracks the number of times that the cleaning cartridge is used.

Preventative maintenance

The tape drive requires no preventive maintenance beyond the use of the cleaning cartridge previously
described.
