16. Setting the clearance between the upper and lower overedge loopers

Requirement:
When the two loopers overlap (fig. 28), the clearance between the point of the upper looper 10 and the
back of the lower looper 2 must be between 0.05 and 0.2 mm.
Check:
G Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the upper looper 10, in its upward movement, is
behind the lower looper 2.
G Check that the clearance between the point of the upper looper 10 and the back of the lower looper 2
is between 0.05 and 0.2 mm.
Setting:
G Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the upper looper 10, in its upward movement, is
behind the lower looper 2.
G Slightly loosen the screw 12 (fig. 29).
G Pull the upper looper 10 forward until the clearance between the point of the upper looper and the
back of the lower looper is between 0.05 and 0.2 mm (fig. 28).
G Tighten the screw 12.
Test:
G As described under "Requirement".
