    • The plow should not move when the engine is idling. If they do, contact your local dealer or Maxim technical service for instruction. • If an object becomes lodged in the plow, push the ON/OFF switch, mounted on engine, to the OFF position, then allow the machine to cool before attempting to remove the foreign object.

    PH50B 4.5 Front Wheel Installation 1. Insert vertical wheel adjustment pipe mount into frame pipe mount and tighten using one ½ x ¾” lock bolt. 2. Insert pipe for front wheel side adjustment into the vertical mount horizontal noted in #1 above.

The ground speed of the plow is controlled by the use of the throttle control lever and will vary given the ground condition and plow depth. 5.2 Throttle Control Lever The throttle control lever, located on the right handle bar, controls engine speed. The further ahead the lever the faster the engine will run, pulling the further back will bring it to idle.

    PH50B 6.2 Starting the Engine Before starting the engine, check the machine against the Set-Up instructions (section 4) to see that it is properly assembled. Review the safety suggestion and operating instructions for safe and proper use of the plow.

    PH50B 6.5 Checking and adding Oil 1. Be sure the engine is located on a level surface before checking or refilling oil. Clean around oil fill area. 2. Be sure engine is cool. 3. Unscrew dipstick and wipe clean with cloth.

    PH50B 6.8 Operation ⚠ IMPORTANT: Keep hands clear of belt and tines while engine is running. ⚠ WARNING: For safe operation, the power to drive wheel should immediately stop when clutch lever is released. If it does not, adjust belt and cable tension as described in Section 7 in this manual.

    PH50B 7 ADJUSTMENTS ⚠ DANGER To avoid possible serious bodily injury, when performing any adjustments, remove the spark plug wire and place the wire away from the plug to prevent accidental starting. 7.1 Clutch Adjustment Proper clutch adjust is very important. Minor adjustment, if needed, can be made by using the links on the clutch cable chain only.

    PH50B 6. Use a high-quality detergent oil – refer to your engine owner’s manual for oil requirements. 7. Add oil as necessary to keep oil level as indicated. Detergent oils keep the engine cleaner and reduce the formation of gum and varnish deposits. Nothing should be added to the recommended oil.

    PH50B ⚠ NOTE: Do not use a garden hose or pressure washing equipment, it can force water into the air cleaner. Water in the air cleaner will soak the filter element and can enter the carburetor or engine cylinder, causing damage.
