    Introduction Introduction The purpose of this manual is to help you use the 85110L S-parameter test set effectively and confidently. The 85110L is specially configured for operation in pulsed-RF measurement systems. Four 70-dB step attenuators protect each input of the fundamentally-mixed down-converter to allow measurement of test devices with output power of 50 watts CW.

    “Contacting Agilent” on page iv). Characteristics The 85110L uses two synthesizers to act as the RF and LO sources for the four mixer based down-converter (Figure 1-1 on page 1-4). This approach eliminates the need to dedicate one channel for phase-lock, making full two-port, pulsed-RF S-parameter measurements possible.

    To protect the switch splitter, any power in excess of +17 dBm into a port of CAUTION the 85110L must be offset by an equal or greater amount of attenuation. The power into the test port must never exceed +47 dBm.
