Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this
component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components
and electrical appliances being used. For information regarding computer settings, consult the TAD website (http://tad-labs.
com). If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your dealer.
Symptom
Settings have been
erased.
No sound
No sound is produced
even when input is
correctly set.
Noise is audible even
when no input is
selected.
Sound is distorted.

Possible cause
' When the unit's power is turned on, if the
power cord is suddenly disconnected or a
power interruption occurs, the contents of
recorded settings may be lost.
' The power cord is disconnected from the
unit's AC IN connector.
Confirm that the audio cable plugs are
connected securely.
Are the connected audio cables broken or cut?
Or is there soiling on the connectors?
Is the disc dirty?
Is the play operation set to pause?
Is the sound volume of the connected amplifier
set too low?
The line output volume level of this device is
low.
This device is muted (The bar "−" is blinking).
Input connector is not connected correctly.
Amplifier's mute function is ON.
Sound is too low.
Noise is present in the power source itself.
Is the unit connected to the amplifier's PHONO
connector?
In the case of a SACD disc, the recording level
is set higher than proper ratings.
Remedy
' Only disconnect the power cord after setting
the power switch to OFF, and confirming that
the display contents have disappeared. Take
particular precautions if the unit's power cord
is connected to the auxiliary power connector
on another component, and the unit's power
supply is linked to the ON/OFF switch of the
other component. If at all possible, connect
the unit's power cord to its own dedicated
wall outlet.
' Be sure to connect the power cord securely
to the AC IN connector.
Connect audio cables securely.
Check the plugs and jacks on the audio cables
and the unit's audio output connectors, as well
as on the audio input connectors of the amplifier
to which it is connected. Clean the connectors if
necessary.
Clean the disc.
Set to play.
When connecting to an amplifier, check the
input settings and speaker settings.
Adjust the sound volume.
Press the MUTE button of the remote controller
to cancel the mute status.
Check the connection.
Press the amplifier's MUTE button to disengage
it.
Adjust the volume.
Check your computer's power wiring; are too
many plugs connected to the same power
outlet?
Do not connect the unit to an amplifier's
PHONO connector.
Lower the SACD output level (page 17).
