2020 RLX Sport Hybrid: TQI and New Model Service Information

INTRODUCTION
This bulletin covers the total quality inspection (TQI) of the 2020 RLX Sport Hybrid. It includes these procedures:
1. Remove the Exterior Protective Coatings
2. Install the Fuses
3. Remove the Interior Protective Coverings
4. Install the Left-Side Shift by Wire (SBW) Shifter Trim
5. Install the Floor Mats
6. Check the 12-Volt Battery
7. Set the Tire Pressures
8. Initialize the TPMS
9. Install the Body Plugs
10. Install the Front License Plate Holder
11. Clean the Rear License Plate Area, and Install the Mounting Hardware
12. Check the Tire Repair Kit
13. Fuel the Vehicle
14. Do the PCM Idle Learn Procedure
15. Charge the High-Voltage Battery
16. Check the Remote Start Operation
17. Check/Refresh the SiriusXM

To do a TQI on a trim level with the navigation system, be sure to complete S/B 19-045, 2020 RLX Sport Hybrid: TQI of
the Navigation System.

  • Page 2: Before Starting

    CLAIM INFORMATION Reimbursement Time: 1.4 hour NOTE This time includes the TQI of the navigation system. TQI PROCEDURES Before Starting Review these items: • Perfect Delivery documents, especially the information on battery maintenance and tire pressures • TQI checklist in the maintenance journal Make sure you record the TQI on the appropriate pages of the checklist.
  • Page 3 2. When the indicator blinks, touch the keyless remote to the POWER button. The indicator will switch from blinking to steady when communication is complete. 3. Turn the power system to ON by pressing the POWER button while applying the brake pedal. You must turn on the power system within 10 seconds of touching the remote to the button.
  • Page 4 Remove the Exterior Protective Coatings Carefully remove all of the exterior protective coatings. Carefully remove the plastic wheel coverings and the exterior Clear Guard protective coatings. See S/B 96-009, Removal of Protective Coatings During TQI. Install the Fuses To lower battery drain during vehicle shipping, the No. 15 BACK UP RADIO (10 A) and No. 16 BACK UP (10 A) fuses are removed from the under-hood fuse/relay box and stored in the center pocket.

    If any of the interior is dirty, clean it with mild soap or an Acura cleaning product such as the Acura Genuine Interior Car Care Kit (P/N 08700-9311B). Clean real wood surfaces with a mild detergent and a soft, damp cloth. Be sure to wipe off any excess liquid to avoid damaging the wood.
  • Page 6 When removing the inboard plastic coverings, use a trim tool to gently remove the plastic sill piece, leaving the ACURA sill plate intact. After removing that piece, carefully remove the plastic, making sure you do not damage any clips. Once you have fully removed the plastic, gently snap the piece back into place and pull the blue tape from the silver sill plate.
  • Page 7 Install the Floor Mats Install the floor mats where they belong. Be sure to place the driver's floor mat eyelets over the anchors in the floor and turn the knobs clockwise to the lock position. Do the same for the rear floor mats. The anchors for those mats are under the front seats.

    Vehicle Exterior Set the Tire Pressures To prevent flat spots during vehicle shipping and storage, the tires are inflated to over 40 psi. Adjust the tire pressures to the cold inflation values listed on the driver's doorjamb label. If you are in a cold climate region, make sure the tires are at the same temperature as the outside air before adjusting the pressures;...
  • Page 9 Vehicle Exterior (Vehicle Lowered to Half Height) Install the Front License Plate Holder If state regulations require the use of a front license plate, install the front license plate holder using the three self- tapping bolts as shown. The four short bolts are for attaching the license plate. The two long bolts and two self-tapping screws are for installing the rear license plate.
  • Page 10 Clean the Rear License Plate Area, and Install the Mounting Hardware Remove the masking tape that covers the two bolt holes. Using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner (3M #051135-08984) and a clean shop towel, carefully remove any tape residue. Then, install the two long bolts and two self-tapping screws as shown.
  • Page 11 Fuel the Vehicle Make sure the No. 16 BACK UP (10 A) fuse is installed before filling up the fuel tank (see Install the Fuses). If you do it without it installed, the fuel gauge will take much longer than normal to show an accurate reading. If this happens, and you do not want to wait for the gauge to show the correct level, turn the power system to OFF and let the vehicle sit for 10 minutes.
  • Page 12 Vehicle Interior Check the Remote Start Operation Turning the Power System to ON NOTE Make sure all doors, the hood, and the trunk are closed before remotely turning the power system on. Press the Lock button on the remote transmitter, then within 5 seconds, press and hold the Remote Engine Start button until the outside turn signals blink once.

  • Page 14 Check the HUD toggle by first pushing in on the thumb wheel on the right side of the steering wheel, then turning it. This will change the image you see in the HUD. Check the Voice System Interaction Audio System and ODMD 20.1.
  • Page 15 ® ® Check Bluetooth HandsFreeLink (HFL) To ensure HFL works and is ready to use, turn on the power system, then press and hold the Hang-up button on the steering wheel for about 5 seconds. You should hear "The TCU is OK.” If you do not hear this message, see the service information for troubleshooting information.
