RIO-D
RIO-D installation manual
Description
RIO-D is a universal double leaf gate control panel for 230Vac
motors with physical limits or limit switches. Timed slow down
and PSR pressure sensitive reversal are provided on motors
without encoders.
An integral remote receiver stores 150 fixed remotes, and
recognizes the fixed part of RC rolling codes at 433MHz. The
Controller is on a single PCB includes transformer. Designed to
UNI8612 standard.

Cable plan
The plan shows the site from inside the property. A duct is shown across the
road containing a 230V motor cable and a low voltage cable for safety cells and
accessories. The junction box on the right side is not needed for articulated arm
sets. Note the photocell cables W5 & W6 pass through the backs of the boxes
and piers to photocell positions. The mains supply W1 should be SWA or
ducted. Always include a draw string.
Motor cables require an earth plus 3 cores, typical rating 5A. Cable in ducts
should be waterproof. Final runs to rams must be flexible. Under -ground cables
should be ducted into the junction box.

Safety warnings
Automatic gates can be hazardous. It is the operators responsibility
of an automatic gate to be aware of, and provide adequate warning
of hazards. All users should be given a hazard awareness briefing and use r
training for the automatic gate.
This manual is written for automation engineers aware of the construction
and accident prevention rules in force. Only qualified persons may do
installation or maintenance work on this installation. Keep the gate in good
working order with regular checks on the safety devices fitted.
Operators should ensure people are clear of the gate during operation.
Children must not be allowed to play near the gate, or be allowed to
operate the gate. We recommended signs both sides of the gate to
warning of risk of injury to pedestrians. Do not permit public access to the
gate area.
