BEFORE SERVICING OR TROUBLESHOOTING ENSURE THE PUMP IS DISCONNECTED
FROM MAINS SUPPLY.
Servicing:
• This Pump, like all mechanical equipment, requires periodic and regular maintenance.
• Reservoir and filter should be removed and cleaned with anti-bacterial solution, and
all tubing should be checked for leaks at maximum 3 month intervals during cooling season.
• Reservoir must be replaced flat & horizontal after removal for any reason.
Troubleshooting:
Fault: Pump runs all the time.
1. Is float present on sensor column?
2. Is float fitted with magnet facing upwards?
3. Is reservoir lid firmly seated on reservoir with float located around sensor column inside reservoir.
4. Is plug on sensor cable correctly and tightly inserted into socket on pump case and are terminals dry?
5. Is there sludge on reservoir bottom preventing float from resting on the bottom. This may occur if
pump has been in operation for some time without cleaning.
Clean reservoir and float with anti bacterial solution.
6. Does evaporator produce more condensate water than pump can handle. If so,
pump is too small and must be replaced with larger unit or different type.
NOTE:
AFTER INSTALLATION AND DURING OPERATION, PRESENCE OF AIR IN PIPE BETWEEN
RESERVOIR AND PUMP INDICATES A BACKFLOW PROBLEM.
REFER TO GUIDELINES ON PAGE 3 TO REMEDY THIS.
PUMP WILL ONLY SWITCH OFF WHEN FLOAT IS RESTING FLAT ON BOTTOM OF RESERVOIR.
Fault: Pump stops and starts and makes a loud noise.
1. The water is backflowing into the pump. Follow guidelines on page 3 to prevent backflow.
Fault: Pump runs but does not pump any water.
1. Check for air leaks in the pipe between reservoir and pump. Use cable ties to to ensure an airtight seal.
2. Check that reservoir and inlet tube are free of sludge and debris.
Fault: Pump doesn't operate.
1. Is voltage correct?
2. Check fuse for continuity.
3. Is pump correctly wired?
4. Is power reaching pump?
5. Is pump very hot? A thermal cut-out may have been activated to protect pump.
This will automatically reset once pump has cooled down.
WARNING:
1. SIZE PUMP TO HANDLE MAXIMUM CONDENSATE FLOW UNDER WORST CASE CONDITIONS.
2. CHECK PUMP FOR CORRECT VOLTAGE BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.
3. INSTALL, PIPE AND WIRE STRICTLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.
4. DO NOT OPERATE PUMP WITHOUT FILTER.
5. DO NOT RUN PUMP DRY, SERIOUS DAMAGE WILL OCCUR AND INVALIDATE WARRANTY.
6. INSPECT PUMP REGULARLY AND CLEAN RESERVOIR AND FILTER. FLOATSWITCH MUST OPERATE FREELY
AT ALL TIMES.
7. DO NOT LEAVE SITE WITHOUT TESTING PUMP FOR CORRECT OPERATION AFTER INSTALLATION AND
MAINTENANCE.
