Installation process

  1. First, charge the gamepad: using the USB cable, connect the gamepad to any free USB port on the powered-on PS3* or any other USB power source (at least 500mA).

    The gamepad's LED status indicators will flash during charging, which takes around 3 hours. Be aware, the first time you charge the device may take longer. As soon as the LEDs go out, charging is complete and you can disconnect the cable.
  2. Plug the receiver into any free USB port on the console. Press the Home button on the gamepad and wait around five seconds before pressing it again to establish a connection to the PS3*. The gamepad's LEDs will flash while a connection is being established, then one of the LEDs will remain solid indicating the player number.Installation process - Step 3
  3. After five minutes of inactivity, the gamepad will switch to standby mode to save energy; to reactivate the gamepad, press the Home button. If the LEDs start flashing rapidly, charge the gamepad.
  4. Press the Home button to access the Home Menu on the PS3*. Be aware, you can't switch the console on or off using this button.

    Some games offer optional motion sensor control functionality for which you need a special gamepad. To ensure you maintain optimal control, deactivate the relevant option in the game's options menu.
