Purpose of this document The purpose of this document is to define the testing methods and acceptance criteria for the Z3-DM8168- APP-41 board and the basic system operation when the Z3-DM8168-APP-41 board is paired with a Z3- DM8168-MOD-34 processor module. - Page 5 The PC computer must be fast enough so that VLC can decode H.264 video at 1080p60 and keep up with real time. The tests require a video player to source video to the HDMI inputs. Since the Z3-DM8168-APP-41 board does not accept HDCP encrypted content, the user must ensure that the video player does not use HDCP encryption.

Page 6: Basic Setup
Configure the Teraterm serial port parameters to 115200 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no parity. Connect the serial port cable from the 2.5mm console jack on the Z3-DM8168-APP-41 board to the serial port of the PC, using the null modem adapter if necessary. Connect the power supply to the Z3-DM8168-APP-41 board and verify that the computer displays the boot sequence. -
Page 7: Physical Embodiment
CPU is executing code, memory is not corrupt and the console port is functional. Ensure that the serial cable is connected between the console jack of the Z3-DM8168-APP-41 and the computer. Ensure that Teraterm is configured for the appropriate serial port, and set to 115200,N81. -
Page 8: Sata Interface
PC. Connect the Ethernet patch cable from the RJ-45 jack of the Z3-DM8168-APP-41 to the Windows PC. Follow the procedure specified by section 4.2 above to turn on the system and obtain a shell prompt. -
Page 9: Hdmi Video Output
Ensure that the file “dectest.h264” is present in the USB mass storage device. Plug the USB mass storage device to the USB jack of the Z3-DM8168-APP-41. Connect the HDMI output of the Z3-DM1868-APP-41 to the HDMI input of the monitor. -
