The transport distance of the roller top feed can be set to differ from that of the bottom
feed by up to a max. 7 mm with the setting dial 2.
When the lever 1 is moved in the direction of the operator the feed roller is swung out of
the work area. The roller top feed has no function.
When the lever 1 is moved to the back the feed roller is swung into the work area.
Note
If the roller top feed is not needed for a longer period, the transport distance should be
set to the minimum value with the setting dial 2 in order to avoid stressing the
mechanics unnecessarily.

6.13.1 The Electropneumatic Feed Roller Switching

For the electropneumatic lifting and lowering of the feed roller the controls of the
sewing drive contain a function module which can be activated via a parameter.
(Setting values see parameter table 6.16.3 line A)

6.13.2 "Lift/Lower Feed Roller" Function Module

General
Function module
A function module is a part of the controls which controls an equipment characteristic of
the machine, such as e.g. the raising and lowering of the feed roller.
Following hardware is standard for each function module:
Output (A or B) e.g. for switching of a solenoid valve.
Input (A or B) e.g. for connection of a key
Output for a LED (A or B), which e.g. indicates a switching status.
Each function module can be switched to differing functions via software. For each
function module there are further parameters e.g. for activating counting procedures or
for switching functions after the thread trimming.
