5.1.2 TRDP LIN Gateway The TRDP LIN Gateway (part no. 802131) converts the data of the connected (max. 20) LOCC- boxes from the LIN into TRDP data packets. It is an ethernet gateway, for use on rail vehicles. If there are more than 20 LOCC-boxes, 20 are displayed on the website. The LED of the remaining LOCC-boxes is permanently green and indicates that they are also configured.

  • Page 29 Operating instructions – TRDP LIN Gateway 8.2.1.3 System with multiple voltage sources There is also an option to use several LOCC-Boxes in different groups with different supply sources and with the same reference ground. (LIN must be looped through). This possibility is to be shown in the following graphic.
  • Page 30 It is also possible to use both Ethernet ports. The internal firmware of the TRDP LIN gateway offers a so-called "bridge function" for this, so that the TRDP LIN gateway can be used like a switch, and you can tunnel through the network.
  • Page 31 8.2.2.3 Two ethernet ports – two networks Another possibility is to connect two networks to the TRDP LIN Gateway and to operate them separately. I.e., if one network e.g., makes problems, the other network can be used as backup - this increase e.g., the availability or would be a protective function.
