Operation Instruction

Batteries Installation

  1. Loosen the securing ring that connects the head and the tube and pull out the tube as shown in the diagram below
  2. Ensure batteries are inserted with the negative (-) ends pointing towards the spring.
  3. After battery installation, assemble the head and the body tube together by carefully aligning the pins on the body tube to the grooves on the back of the light head. Rotate and tighten the securing ring afterward.

NOTE: After battery installation, the power indicator beneath the switches will blink to indicate battery voltage. Please refer to the "Power Tips" section of this manual for details.

  1. Do not mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.
  2. Do not mix batteries of different types/brands.
  3. Ensure the batteries are inserted correctly. The EA42 will not operate if batteries are incorrectly inserted.
  4. When the flashlight is kept in a backpack, please lockout the EA42 to prevent accidental activation of the flashlight; When it is left unused for extended periods of time, please remove all batteries to prevent battery leakage.

On/Off Operation

Turn on: When the light is off, tap the On/Off switch to turn on the light.

Turn off: When the light is on, tap the On/Off switch again to turn off the light.

Changing Brightness Level

When the light is on, tap the mode switch to cycle through "Ultralow-Low-Mid-High-Turbo". (The EA42 memorizes its previously used brightness level and returns to it the next time it is turned on. When batteries are reinstalled, the light will reset to ultralow.)

Direct Access to Turbo/Ultralow

Direct Access to Ultralow: When the light is off, press and hold the On/Off switch for 1 second to enter Ultralow.

Direct Access to Turbo: When the light is off, press and hold the mode switch for 1 second to activate Turbo mode. Keep holding the mode switch and the light will enter momentary Turbo mode which will turn off when the pressing is released.
When the light is on, press and hold the mode switch to momentarily activate Turbo mode. The light returns to its previously brightness level once the pressing is released.

Positioning

  • When the light is on, press and keep holding the On/Off switch to turn off the light and activate the positioning function
  • The blue indicator beneath two switches blinks once every 2 seconds to signal the location of the light.
  • When positioning light is on, standby time is about 6 months; When the positioning light is off, standby time is about 1 year.
  • To switch off the positioning light, either tap the On/off switch which will turn on the light, or tap the mode switch which will activate the power indicator.

Lockout/Unlock

Lockout: The lockout mode is designed to prevent the light from accidental activation. To enter lockout mode, press and hold both switches simultaneously until the light flashes once and turns off. The light will not respond to any switch press in the lockout mode. The positioning light is also turned off.

Unlock: To exit lockout mode, simply press and hold both switches until the light turns on again.

Power Tips

When the light is switched off, tap the Mode switch once to activate the built-in power indicator underneath the switches. The power indicator will flash to indicate the remaining battery level:

  1. 3 flashes represent battery level above 50%.
  2. 2 flashes represent battery level below 50%.
  3. 1 flash represents battery level below 10%.
NOTE: When the light is in use, the indicator will flash slowly if the battery level is below 50% and flashes rapidly if the battery level is below 10%.

Accessing Special modes (Strobe/ Beacon / SOS)

When the light is off, tap the Mode switch twice successively to turn Strobe on. Tap the Mode switch again to cycle through Beacon-SOS-Strobe. Turn off the light to exit Special Modes.

ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation)

With Advanced Temperature Regulation module, the EA42 regulates its output and adapts to the ambient environment, maintaining optimal performance.

Replacing Batteries

When the battery level is low, the blue power indicator will flash quickly, the light output will become dim and/or the mode switch will no longer be able to adjust the brightness. In these situations, batteries should be replaced.

Maintenance

Every 6 months, threads should be wiped with a clean cloth followed by a thin coating of siliconbased lubricant.
