CAuTION:
The high-pressure jet stream la very strong and can dam-
age objects. A 20° jet stream angle should be used for most
cleaning applications to prevent damage to the surfaces being
cleaned.
The pressure of the jet stream against the surface to be
cleaned increases as you bring the spray wand closer to the
surface.

High pressure/Turbo spray

Caution!
Do not attempt to adjust the settings of the turbo nozzle.
The high pressure nozzle produces optimum cleaning results
(see fig. J) Always hold the spray wand at least 15-20 cm away

Some cleaning jobs with the pressure washer are possible
using only water. However, most jobs should be performed
with an additional detergent. Detergents ensure that the dirt
absorbs the high-pressure stream and becomes wet very
quickly, which allows it to be removed more effectively.
The low-pressure setting allows you to carefully apply the
detergent. This setting is also recommended for rinsing sur-
faces after applying wax or for other applications which re-
quire working with a lower water pressure than attained with
a garden hose. For the low-pressure setting, turn off the unit
and use only the water pressure from the garden hose supply-
ing the water.
CAuTION!
Use only detergents Intended for use in pressure washers with
this unit. Ask at your KNOVA about these special products.
Do not use any bleach, chlorine products or acidic cleaning
agents.

Remove the filter cap from the holding tank on the backside of
the unit (fig. K) and fill the tank with suitable liquid detergent.
Set the adjustable spray nozzle in the low pressure setting by
sliding collar toward the nozzle.
The detergent now mixes automatically with the water and is
released through the spray nozzle.
Caution!
Clean the detergent tank with plenty of water after the ap-
plication.
No detergent is released while the adjustable spray nozzle is
set in the high-pressure position.

Applying detergent

J
Apply the solution to a DRY working surface. For vertical sur-
faces, apply the detergent in a horizontal direction from side
to side starting at the bottom and working upwards to avoid
streaks.
Leave the detergent on the surface for a short time before
rinsing it off.
Rinse at high pressure with clear water. For vertical surfaces,
rinse from the bottom upward and then from the top down-
ward. Hold the spray nozzle at a distance of 15 - 20 cm from
the work surface at a 45° angle and use the fiat jet spray with
e peeling-like motion rather man a brushing motion.
It le not advisable to moisten the surface first, since this can
dilute and limit the effect of the detergent.
Chemicals can damage painted surfaces. Wash and rinse
small test surfaces immediately prior to working en the whole
surface. Avoid working on hot surfaces or in direct sunlight.
The detergent injection system must be completely dean be-
fore you change detergents:
