3. INSTALLING THE DIE SET AND LOCATOR ASSEMBLY
1. Open the tool handles.
2. Remove the two die-retaining screws from the tool jaws (see Figure 1).
3. Insert the lower nest die in the moving jaw of the tool frame with the chamfered side facing outward.
4. Insert the two long die-retaining pins.
5. Insert the long die-retaining screw through the jaw and through the nest die. Tighten the screw just
enough to hold the nest in place. Do not tighten the screw completely.
6. Insert the upper anvil die in the stationary jaw of the tool frame with the chamfered side facing outward.
7. Insert the two short die-retaining pins.
8. Insert the short die-retaining screw through the jaw and through the anvil die. Tighten the screw just
enough to hold the die in place. Do not tighten the screw completely.
9. Carefully close the tool handles, making sure the anvil and nest align properly. Continue closing the
tool handles until the ratchet in the tool frame has engaged sufficiently to hold the dies in place.
10. Tighten both die-retaining screws.
11. Place the locator assembly over the end of the long screw and position the locator against the side of
the tool jaw.
12. Place the nut onto the end of the long screw and tighten the nut enough to hold the locator in place.
4. REMOVING THE DIE SET AND LOCATOR ASSEMBLY
1. Close the tool handles until the ratchet releases.
2. Remove the nut, the locator, the two die-retaining screws, and the four die-retaining pins.
3. Slide the dies out of the tool jaws.
NOTE
The ratchet release has detents with audible clicks as the handles are closed. The ratchet releases on the sixth click.
