LEVELING MOWER AND ADJUSTING
PITCH
NOTE: To make measuring blade height easier, wrap a
wood block (approximately 1" x 5" or 2.5 cm x 12.7 cm)
with masking tape. With the end of the block on the
ground, mark the block with the mower blade. Measure
the distance from the end of the block to the mark.
1. Place mower in highest position.
2. Place anti-scalp rollers in highest position so they
do not touch the ground during adjustment.
3. Loosen upper nuts on hanger hooks.
4. Adjust height so blade is 4" (10.2cm) from ground
level. Turn lower nuts on hanger hooks clockwise
to lower rear of mower. Turn lower nuts
counterclockwise to raise rear of mower.
5. Adjust blade pitch so rear blade height is 1/8" to
1/4" (3 to 6mm) higher than front blade height.
Loosen flanged nuts and slide adjusting tabs up
or down to achieve proper pitch (Figure 8).
6. Tighten flanged nuts.
7. Tighten upper nuts on hanger hooks.
8. Reset anti-scalp rollers to match desired
attachment position.

REPLACING DECK BELT
1. Remove mower drive belt. See Figure 10.
2. Disconnect idler spring from spring mount welded
to the mower deck.
3. Remove left sheave cover.
4. Remove old belt from mower deck and install new
belt. Ensure belt is seated in all pulley grooves.
5. Replace left sheave cover, reconnect idler spring
and replace mower drive belt.
REPLACING MOWER DRIVE BELT
The mower belt idler system is designed to provide
constant tension on the belt. If the deck idler spring is
extended less than 4 1/2" (11.4 cm), replace the mower
drive belt.
