Checking/Changing zinc anodes

WARNING! Risk of water entering. Close the
rawwater cock before starting work on the
rawwater system.
1. Close the rawwater cock.
2. Screw out the zinc anodes on the:
• Heat exchanger end cover – 2 pcs.
• Sides of expansion tank – 2 pcs.
• Charge air cooler cover – 1 pc.
• Engine oil cooler – 2 pcs.
3. Change the anode if less than 50% of its original
size. Otherwise, clean the anode with emery cloth
to remove the layer of oxide.
IMPORTANT! Do not use a wire brush or other
metal tool for cleaning as this can impair the
galvanic protection.
4. Fit the zinc anodes. Make sure there is good con-
tact between the anode and the metal goods.
6. Open the rawwater cock before starting the en-
gine.
7. Make sure there are no leaks.
