Installation Instructions for Recessed Model
Installing the Recessed Hi-Lite
Once you have decided where to place the fi xture(s),
you can easily install it by following these simple steps.
1. Remove tile from the ceiling grid where the Recessed
fi xture will be placed.
2. Make sure there is enough clearance above and on
each side of where the fi xture will be placed.
3. Locate structure to which safety cable will be fastened.
4. If the tile is 2' x 2', (or 600 mm) the fi xture will drop
securely into place. If the tile is 2' x 4', you will need
to cut the existing tile and add another grid cross-
member.
It is imperative that the fi xture is properly sup-
ported and secured with the safety cabling kit.
INSTALL THE SAFETY CABLE
In the unlikely event that the ceiling grid does not hold
properly, the attached safety cable will keep the unit sus-
pended safely above conference participants. Please be
certain to wear safety glasses and follow common sense
safety precautions when drilling holes for safety cable
installation.
Secure the safety cable by one of the following methods:
1. Typical Concrete Installation
(Tools required: Step Ladder, Adjustable Wrench,
Drill, 1/4" Masonry Bit, Safety Glasses.)
a. Predrill one 1/4" hole (using a 1/4" masonry drill
bit) in the cement directly above the T-bar clamp
assembly, insert and hammer in the wedge an-
chor.
b. Loop the safety cable through the wedge anchor,
fold it back approximately 3.3" and fasten with
cable clips.
