4.1
Overview
The wall-mounted enclosure has Ex e type of protection and is suitable for use in hazardous areas
(Zones 1, 21). The wall-mounted enclosure can be used for the installation of devices,
components and fixtures with separate certificate.
The wall-mounted enclosures comply with the requirements of the following standards:
• EN/IEC 60079-0 General requirements
• EN/IEC 60079-7 Enhanced safety
• EN/ICE 60079-31 Protection by means of enclosure.
The ATEX certificate supplied with the wall-mounted enclosure does not take into account the
installation of components. The wall-mounted enclosure is supplied with ATEX component
certification. For installation and operation in hazardous areas, an ATEX device certification is
also required.
The enclosures can be identified as follows depending on the application:
• II 2G Ex eb IIC Gb
• II 2D Ex tb IIIC Db
4.2
Application
• The wall-mounted enclosure is suitable for the installation and operation of distributed I/O,
e.g. ET 200iSP, in the following hazardous area:
– Device group II (Zones 1 + 2 gas, and Zones 21 + 22 dust)
• The wall-mounted enclosure has been tested and certified as an ATEX component for use in
these Ex areas.
