6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONS

A dangerous situation may arise when SNATCHET devices are used in combination with
components or sub-assemblies not described in this manual because the safety function of one
of the devices is affected or interferes with the safety function of another device.
SNATCHET devices have a lifetime of 30 years from the date of construction, in the absence of
causes that could determine their withdrawal (for example incorrect use) and on condition that
all the maintenance, storage and transport instructions described in this manual are followed,
with the recording of their results in the Equipment Record.

WARNING:
- The SNATCHET devices are designed for use by a single person and are personal devices.
- Suspended activities are inherently dangerous and it is the user's responsibility to apply the
best techniques for safe use.
- SNATCHET devices must be used by specialized personnel or competent users of PPE
(Personal Protective Equipment), specifically trained in the safe use of these products.
- SNATCHET devices should only be used by physically and mentally healthy personnel. Heart
and respiratory problems, taking medications, alcohol and drugs can compromise the safety
of the user who works at height.
- When using the devices in a fall arrest system, consider the length of the SNATCHET as it
affects the fall length. It is essential for safety to check the required clearance below the user
in the workplace before each use so that, in the event of a fall, there will be no collision with
the ground or other obstacles along the way of fall.
- It is essential for the safety that the anchor device or the anchor point are positioned and
that the work is performed in such a way as to minimize both the fall potential, and the
potential fall distance.
- Before using SNATCHET devices, it is mandatory to organize a rescue plan to deal with any
emergencies that may arise during work.
- The intentional modification or misuse of SNATCHET devices can cause the system to
malfunction, which can cause a fall, resulting in serious injury or death. SNATCHET devices
cannot be modified, tampered with or repaired.
- When SNATCHET devices are assembled into a system, a full body safety harness (EN361
certified) is the only acceptable body holding device that can be used in a fall arrest system.
For connection to the harness and to the anchor point, refer to the component connection
manual. An energy absorber (EN355 certified) must also be used. For protection from falls
from above it must be used also an energy absorber (EN355 certified).
- Use only connections compatible with the carabiner.
- SNATCHET devices must not be used outside their limitations or for purposes other than
those intended.
- If the device has been used to arrest a fall, it must be immediately removed from use and
destroyed.
- Harken will not be liable for personal injury or damage caused by improper use of the device.
- It is essential for the user's safety that if the product is resold outside the original country of
