Installation Precautions

Installation location
● You need to observe the regulations of the local government,
state and country that govern the installation of sensor units
when installing the sensor unit.
You must ensure that installation complies with all relevant rules
and regulations.
● Keep a space around the sensor unit as detailed on the fi gure
shown right.
● Install so the sensor unit is within 300 mm of the fl oor.
This is stipulated in regulations.
● Install this sensor unit horizontally.
● Do not block the gas detector or place objects immediately in front
of the gas detector as this will mean that refrigerant leaks will not
be detected.
● If no obstacles exist in a straight line from the sensor unit to the
indoor unit, wall distance should be within 10 m in horizontal
straight line.
● If obstacles exist in a straight line from the sensor unit to the
indoor unit, wall distance should be within 7 m in horizontal
straight line.
● This sensor unit should be mounted in a position where it can be
easily accessed for maintenance and repairs.
● Avoid the following locations for installation.
• By a window, etc. exposed to direct sunlight or external airflow
• In the shadow or backside of objects deviated from the room
airflow
• Location where condensation occurs
( The sensor unit is not moisture proof or drip proof)
• Location near heat source
• Uneven surface
• Location where there is a danger of mechanical damage being
infl icted on the sensor unit
• Location where there is a danger of the generation of
contaminants such as silicone gases (siloxane, etc.), organic
solvents/chloric gases, etc.
● Use the unit while being suffi ciently aware of and confi rming the
eff ects of the environment in which the indoor unit is installed.
There is a possibility that the sensor will react in installation
environments such as hospitals, beauty salons, and factories.
For example, the DME and LPG included as propellants in
hair sprays and insect sprays are reductive gases with high
concentrations, and this sensor unit may react to them.
Refer to the installation instructions supplied with the indoor
unit for details about the location for installing the sensor unit.
