DAILY USE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFESTRAW PEAK SERIES 3L GRAVITY
WATER FILTER SYSTEM

DAILY USE

Follow these steps for using your Peak Series 3L Gravity Water Filter System.
1. Assemble. Attach the membrane microfilter to the gravity bag by first unscrewing the plug cap,
then screw the filter onto the outside of the neck cap. Tighten until secure.
2. Attach Hose. Connect the included hose to the exposed outlet of the filter. Make sure the pinch
clip is tighten to prevent water from flowing until you're ready.
3. Fill. When ready to use, unscrew the neck cap to expose the gravity bag opening. Fill with water,
and retighten the cap to close.
4. Hang. To use as gravity system, hang the reservoir to an anchor point using the strap to secure.
5. Ready to Use. Release the pinch clip on the hose to allow filtered water to flow through, letting
gravity do the work! Note: these instructions are based on using the product as a gravity system.
The 3L bag can also be used for water storage with the included cap or as a squeeze bag system.
6. Close filter. When finished filtering, we recommend removing the hose from the filter, then
unscrewing the filter from the outside of the neck cap and screwing it inside of the bottle. This
will keep it protected. Use the plug cap on the end of the neck cap to keep everything secure and
prevent leakage.
7. Maintenance and Storage. Regularly backwash your filter after use to keep the filter clean and to
prevent clogging. To do this, disconnect the membrane microfilter by twisting counterclockwise.
Then, screw the included backwash syringe onto the membrane microfilter. Plunge the open end
of the filter into drinking water, and draw water up through the filter by pulling the syringe
upward and away from the filter until it reaches the edge of the housing. Then push water back
through the filter by pressing the syringe downward toward the filter until the water has been
fully pushed through the other side.
