SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
Use, maintenance, cleaning and product installation guidelines:
for your own safety, please read through all paragraphs of the

instruction manual including the associated pictograms.
This appliance is for household use only.
It has not been designed for use in the following cases, which are not
covered by the guarantee:
- in staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other professional
environments,
- on farms,
- by guests of hotels, motels and other settings of a residential
nature,
- or in bed and breakfast settings
Remove all packaging, stickers and other accessories from both the
interior and exterior of the appliance.
This appliance is not designed for use by people (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or by people with
no prior knowledge or experience, unless they have had supervision or
previous instructions relating to the use of the appliance from a person
responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance or use it as a toy.
Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
Accessible surfaces may become hot when the appliance is in use.
Do not touch the appliance's hot surfaces.
This appliance is not designed to be switched on using an external
timer or a separate remote control system.
Unwind the cord completely.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its after-sales service or a similarly qualified person to prevent any
hazards.

If an extension cord is used, it must be of equivalent capacity and have
a built-in earth connection. Take all necessary precautions to ensure
that no one trips over the cord.
Only connect the appliance to an earthed socket.
Check that the electrical installation is compatible with the power and
voltage indicated on the underside of the appliance.
This appliance must not be immersed in water. Never immerse the
appliance or cord in water.
This appliance may be used by children aged eight years and over
and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
by people with no prior knowledge or experience provided that they
have received supervision or instructions relating to the safe use of
the appliance and that they understand the dangers involved. User
cleaning and maintenance should not be carried out by children, unless
they are over eight years of age and are supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children under eight
years of age.
WARNING: Do not heat or preheat the grill without the two plates inside.
Some foods with a skin (whole sausages, tongue, poultry etc.) or large
pieces of meat may spit when boiling liquids become trapped.
We therefore advise you to prick them before cooking using a knife or fork.

• Carefully read the instructions in this manual, which are common to the different versions depending on the accessories
supplied with your appliance, and keep them close at hand.
• If an accident occurs, run cold water over the burn immediately and call a doctor if necessary.
• When using for the first time, wash the plates (see paragraph 11), pour a little oil on them and wipe them with a soft cloth.
• Make sure that the power cord is properly positioned (with or without an extension cord), and take all necessary
precautions so as to not obstruct the movement of guests around the dinner table and ensure that no one trips over it.
• Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals with particularly sensitive respiratory systems, such as birds. We recommend
that bird owners keep their birds away from the cooking area.
• Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
• Check that both sides of the plates are clean before use.
• To avoid damaging the plates, use them only on the appliance for which they were designed (e.g. do not put them in an
oven or on a gas or electric hob).
• Make sure that the plates are stable, well positioned and securely fastened to the base of the appliance. Only use the
plates supplied or purchased from the authorised service centre.
• Always use a plastic or wooden spatula to preserve the coating on the cooking plates.
• Use only the accessories supplied with the appliance or purchased from an authorised service centre. Do not use them
with other appliances.
