Nesting Box Assemble
9.1 Using 1 1/2 " x 1 1/2 " and 1 1/2 " x 2 1/2 " pressure-treated material, assemble the frame for
the nesting box using the illustration below as a guide. Make sure to take note of the 11 degree
slope needed for the roof of the nesting box.
9.2 Cover the frame with 1/2" plywood and secure with 2" wood screws. Provide the opening for
the door in the front panel.
9.3 Assemble the door frame using 1 1/2 " x 1 1/2 " material according to the illustration and cover
the frame with 1/2" plywood and secure with 2" wood screws.
9.4 Install two 3" door hinges using 6x1" wood screws. Finish the door installation by
attaching 2x4" surface bolt and 6" door pull (node D).
9.5 Using cutting scheme on page 22 prepare the sheet metal (23 Gauge) by making the indicated
cuts and bends.
9.6 Use 1 1/2" sheet metal screws and neoprene washers to secure the roofing.
9.7 Install nest box assembles with the help of two corner braces and 8x1" wood screws (node E).
Connect the box frame and coop's back wall by 3" wood screws.
