    PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX STANDARD (STD) FOR NCR OPTIC Follow these steps to uninstall Helix STD components prior to installing the NCR OPTIC 12 components. OPEN THE WAYNE HELIX STD 1. Using the provided key for the dispenser, unlock the lower metal frame on the Helix dispenser.
  • Page 22 PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX STANDARD (STD) FOR NCR OPTIC 3. Remove the lower metal Collar Frame. a. Unscrew the two attaching screws using a T7 Torex driver holding the upper and lower collar frame sections together. Retain the screws and set aside.

    PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX STANDARD (STD) FOR NCR OPTIC UNINSTALL THE HELIX CABINET COMPONENTS 1. Uninstall all components from the upper Plastic Collar Frame. a. Note all connections to the Helix Customer Display. Unplug all connections to the Helix Customer Display and unscrew the grounding wire screw from the plastic collar frame using a T7 Torex driver.
  • Page 27 PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX STANDARD (STD) FOR NCR OPTIC c. Remove any remaining gasket material from the outer speaker housing and clean any adhesive residue. Place speaker inside the dispenser cavity. Retain attaching hardware. d. Uninstall the speaker attachment bracket using a T7 Torex driver (or Phillips head driver depending on screw type) on the center screw.

Note the cable connections to the PPU Board (located below the Helix STD components), PPU Grade Select Buttons Cable, Totalizer Cables, and Call/Intercomm Button cable for re-installation. Disconnect all cables from the PPU board, totalizers (if present), Grade Select Buttons, and Call Button (if present on PPU panel).

Unplug all cables included in the black sleeved cable bundle from the Helix STD components attached to the slide rail pullout (Card Reader, Screen, etc.).

Depress the plastic catch lever on each slide bar track and pull out the STD components until the slide bars clear the dispenser.

    PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX STANDARD (STD) FOR NCR OPTIC a. Remove any restraints holding the Black Sleeve Cable Bundle to the inside of the dispenser and remove the Black Sleeve from the cable bundle. Discard the black sleeve. b. Identify the PPU cables for power and communication, PPU Grade Select Cable, Totalizer Cables (if present), and Call/Intercomm Button cables (if present on the PPU panel) from the Cable Bundle.

Remove the Customer Display from the plastic collar frame. Unscrew the remaining three screws holding the Customer Display with a T7 Torex driver.

    PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX STANDARD (STD) FOR NCR OPTIC 8. Repeat for the opposite side of the dispenser. UNINSTALL THE METAL BRACKET COMPONENTS FROM THE DISPENSER 1. Remove the metal cross bar bracket and attaching hardware from the dispenser. a. unscrew the two screws from the bracket.

  • Page 44 PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX STANDARD (STD) FOR NCR OPTIC c. Remove the STD controller board using a T7 Torex driver on the 4 corner screws holding the metal plates together. Note: Unscrew the outside screws attaching the STD Controller Board Plate to the larger metal plate, not the board screw themselves.

You may also need to bend the Stud tabs up and out of the way with a flat head driver located on the right side of the panel on each side of the dispenser.

Install the retained Prop Rod bracket to the new plastic collar frame in the noted position from the uninstall process.

    INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE STANDARD (STD) WAYNE HELIX c. Reopen the dispenser frames and engage the prop rods after both shoulders are reinstalled. PREPARE TO INSTALL THE OPTIC PANEL 1. Install the Customer Display onto the OPTIC Panel (497-0520725).

Install the gaskets to both brackets. Install the Speaker Gasket Brackets to the Speaker Openings with one provided screw (006- 8626488) and one retained screw.

Remove the two outside slide rail sections from the Helix STD slide rail and bracket assemblies (Printer Side Slide Rail, 497-0520739; Card Reader Side Slide Rail, 497-0520740) by pulling back on the plastic latches as shown below.

Install the lock barrel nut and tighten the lock into place. Install the new lock cam in the unlocked position with the bend towards the metal frame as shown below.
