Wear appropriate protective clothing (gloves, shoes, goggles, hearing protection, etc.). Ensure that all operating controls (ropes, cables, rods, etc) are placed so as they cannot be operated unintentionally and cause damage or injury.

Wheel Rake SR300 Precautions when driving on public roads Dimensions Depending on the dimensions of the machine, contact the relevant authorities to ensure that it can be legally transported on public roads. If the machine is over the maximum legal size, follow the applicable regulations for special transportation of oversize equipment.

Wheel Rake SR300 Precautions when coupling Before attaching the machine, make sure that it cannot accidentally start moving (chock the wheels) and that the parking stand is in the right position. The machine must only be attached to the hitch points provided for this purpose.

Wheel Rake SR300 PTO shaft Use only PTO shafts supplied with the machine or recommended by the machine manufacturer. The protective shield of the tractor PTO stub, the PTO shaft guards and the protective shield of the machine input shaft must always be in place and in good condition.

The part numbers for the decals are located in the lower right corner of the decal. Replacement decals may be ordered through your dealer or Kuhn. When replacing decals, be sure the surface is clean and dry. Peel the backing off the decal and apply to the machine.
Road safety equipment and recommendations The road safety equipment is mounted in the factory or by your authorized Kuhn dealer according to current safety regulations. Always keep to the legal speed limit for driving a tractor-machine assembly on public roads.
Wheel Rake SR300 4.4.1 Transport lock When transporting the rake on public roads, always lock the rake arms and rake wheels in the transport position with the transport lock valves. The valves are installed at the end of the hydraulics where the rake couples with the tractor.

Wheel Rake SR300 6.1.3 Coupling the machine Adjust machine height It is very important that the machine height is adjusted properly so the machine is parallel with the ground. - Adjust bolts (1), 2 on clevis and 4 on ball hitch, in the five sets of holes so the rake arm beams (2) are parallel with the ground (3).
Wheel Rake SR300 Ball hitch - Remove pin (1). - Slide collar back (2) as shown until the hinged ball head (3) pops open. - Maneuver ball from tractor drawbar into the ball head, snap it closed, push collar back into place, and replace pin.

Wheel Rake SR300 6.1.6 Hydraulic connection Remove connector dust caps and connect hydraulic hoses to tractor. The hydraulic hoses for controlling the rake arm position will be marked with blue bands. - Activating hydraulic pressure to the hose with the 2 blue bands will unfold the rake arms.

Wheel Rake SR300 Setting windrow width The rear rake arm angle can be adjusted to increase or decrease the windrow width. - With the rake arms positioned at the desired working angle, raise the rake wheels to the transport position.
Wheel Rake SR300 Changing the working width Before placing the machine in working position: - Check that nobody is within the machine pivoting area. - If there is someone, make sure the person moves away. To set the rake at maximum working width (A), fold the arms outward until they stop.
Wheel Rake SR300 Adjusting rake wheel ground pressure Before adjusting, maintaining or repairing the machine, perform the safety shutdown procedure. From the working position: - Remove clip (1). - Retrieve the wrench (3) supplied with the machine and turn the adjustment rod (2) to adjust ground pressure.
Wheel Rake SR300 Adjusting front or rear rake wheels The front and rear raking wheels on each side of the rake are designed to be locked up if necessary. Front raking wheels can be locked up when it is desirable to rake less hay into the windrow in conditions where a more open, or flatter, raking angle is preferred.

Wheel Rake SR300 9. Optional equipment Tandem axle Kit no. 18967787 In applications where fields are especially rough and uneven, an off-set tandem axle is available for the rear wheels to provide smoother operation. The off-set tandem axle also provides lower ground compaction.
Wheel Rake SR300 Center splitter wheel Kit no. 18967789 The center splitter wheel is used to fluff the center part of the windrow. It can be used when raking multiple windrows together or after mowers or tedders have been used.
Wheel Rake SR300 9.3.2 Adjusting splitter wheel angle For heavier crops, the splitter wheel angle can be reduced by turning in the clevis on the cylinder rod. The threaded portion of the rod should not extend more than 1’’ (2.5cm) past the bottom of the clevis (A).

Wheel Rake SR300 Transport light kit Kit no. 18978484 The light and signalling kit provides increased safety during transport on public roads. Most tractor lights will be visible during transport of this equipment. However, if the tractor lights are obscured, then the optional light kit should be ordered and used during transport on public roads.

Wheel Rake SR300 10. Maintenance and storage 10.1 Lubrication Before adjusting, maintaining or repairing the machine, perform the safety shutdown procedure. Use Molybdenum HD grease. Wheel Rake SR300 10.2 Maintenance After the first 10 hours of use - Check tightness of all bolts and nuts on rake assembly, particularly on rake wheels. - Check the center retaining clips on the rake wheels for tightness and adjust as necessary.
- Replace any damaged or missing safety decals. - Replace all parts that are worn or damaged with KUHN original parts. At the start of each season - Re-read the operators' manual.
