4. Function test

With each stop procedure, the safety device of the PL814 is tested by means of the lift control
unit. As soon as the lift is flush-aligned and a door switch or switch for the locking mechanism
opens, the relay K60 is activated and as a result the shunt circuit enabled. If the contact zone
between the terminals C1 and C2 is not closed because a contact on the safety relay is not
closed, then the lift is shut down and does not accept any further commands. In case of
hydraulic lifts, the lift car, if possible, is travelled to the lowest stopping position and shut down
there.
A test is not executed in case of an activated inspection run device or releveling control unit.

5. Measures against unintentional movement of the lift car UCM

If the lift car leaves the door zone with open doors, then the safety relays -K75 and -K76 are
switched off and therefore the shunt circuit of the door switch or the switch for the locking
mechanism is interrupted.
The typical release time of a safety relay according to the data sheet is 5ms, with a suppressor
diode as a protective circuit, up to 25ms.
Recognition of unintentional movement of the lift car with open doors away from the stopping
position and the power failure-safe storage of this fault can be executed using the circuit board
PL751A, for example, which is type-tested according to EN81-1 9.11.3, EN81-2 9.13.3 or
EN81-20 5.6.7.3 and 5.6.7.9.
