Operating Manual
After applying an operating voltage of +24V DC to terminal A5, the relay –K74 energises. Only
if –K74 is energised, can the safety relays –K75 and –K76 energise and be set to self-locking
as soon as the related input signal is applied. Only when both safety relays –K75 and –K76
are energised is the self-locking of relay -K74 released and the relay switched off. -K74 must
be de-energised and –K75 and –K76 energised in order that the safety contact zone between
the terminals C1 and C2 can be closed.
By applying the operating voltage +24V DC or a non-safety relevant input signal, the relay –
K60 can energise and therefore enable the contact zone between the terminals C1 and C2.
As soon as the incident to be monitored is obsolete, i.e. both input signals are switched off, the
two safety relays–K75 and –K76 are de-energised, and subsequently–K74 can be re-
energised.
Fault diagnosis:
1. Should one of the two input signals be missing or one of the two safety relays –K75 and
–K76 does not energise, the safety contact between the terminals C1 and C2 remains
open.
2. If one of the two input signals is not switched off or one of the two safety relays –K75
and –K76 does not de-energise, then –K74 will not energise. As a result, the safety
relays of the other channel cannot re-energise and the safety contact zone between
terminal C1 and C2 remains open.
3. If the safety relay –K74 does not de-energise, the safety contact zone between the
terminals C1 and C2 remains open.
4. If the safety relay –K74 does not energise, then also the two safety relays –K75 and –
K76 cannot energise and the safety contact zone between the terminals C1 and C2
remains open.

3.2. Safety device version 1 with partial equipping

A partially equipped circuit board can also be used for version 1 applications. For this purpose,
the same circuit board is used. The partially equipped circuit board receives the designation
PL814A.
