from direct sunlight and excess heat or cold.
Store the fully charged tool disconnected from the
charger.
Transportation
Note: Integral Li-ion tools should not be put in checked
baggage on airplanes and must be properly protected
from short circuits if they are in carry-on baggage.
Important safety instructions for all integral battery
charging
Warning! Read all safety warnings, instructions, and
cautionary markings for the battery, charging cable and
product. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may
result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
The provided charging cable is not intended for any uses
u
other than charging BLACK+DECKER rechargeable tools
with micro charging ports. Charging other types of tools
may cause their batteries to overheat and burst, resulting
in personal injury, property damage, fire, electric shock or
electrocution.
DO NOT expose charging cable to water, rain or snow.
u
Pull by the plugs rather than the cord when disconnecting
u
the charging cable. This will reduce the risk of damage to
the plugs and cord.
Make sure that the cord is located so that it will not be
u
stepped on, tripped over or otherwise subjected to dam-
age or stress.
When charging the tool outdoors, always provide a dry
u
location.
DO NOT use a charging cable with a damaged cord or
u
plugs. Have them replaced immediately.
Foreign materials of a conductive nature, such as, but not
u
limited to, grinding dust, metal chips, steel wool, aluminum
foil or any buildup of metallic particles should be kept away
from the charging and micro charging plugs and port.
Always unplug the charging cable from the power supply
u
when there is no tool attached to it.

Electrical safety
#
Your charger is double insulated; therefore no
earth wire is required. Always check that the
mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on
the rating plate. Never attempt to replace the
charger unit with a regular mains plug.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
u
manufacturer or an authorised BLACK+DECKER Service
Centre in order to avoid a hazard.
Warning! Never attempt to replace the charger unit with a
regular mains plug.

Charging the battery (fig. A)
The integral battery needs to be charged before first use and
whenever it fails to produce sufficient power on jobs that were
easily done before. The battery may become warm while
charging; this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Warning! Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures
below 10 °C or above 40 °C. Recommended charging
temperature: approx. 24 °C.
Note: The charger will not charge a battery if the cell
temperature is below approximately 10 °C or above 40 °C.
The integral battery should be left connected to the charger
and the charger will begin to charge automatically when the
cell temperature warms up or cools down.
Insert the charging connector (5) into the charging port
u
(5a).
Plug in the charging connector (5).
u
Leave the tool connected to the charger for around 4
u
hours.
The charging indicator (5b) will illuminate during charging.
