General 1 General 1.1 Information about this manual This installation and operating manual is part of the SAFERUN® pump monitoring system and describes the correct and safe use of the device in all operating phases. ® SAFERUN uses sensors in the containment can to determine the current operating state of the connected pump.

Safety Safety This section provides important information on all safety aspects for the optimum protection of staff, as well as safe and trouble- free operation. In addition to the general safety instructions and instructions on particular dangers given in this section, the safety instructions relevant for safe handling are given in each action section.
Safety 2.1 General safety instructions The device corresponds to the general state of the art and has been designed and manufactured in compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines. To use the device safely, always observe the following safety instructions: Check the device regularly for externally visible damage and defects.
Safety 2.2 Particular dangers The device itself is not dangerous. However, depending on where it is used, special safety regulations in line with the operational safety ordinance and the accident prevention regulations apply to the device’s field of application. The device meets the requirements according to RL 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) for use in potentially explosive environments.
® SAFERUN is designed to monitor the operating state of magnetically coupled MNK series centrifugal pumps from Richter Chemie-Technik GmbH. Any other or additional use is considered improper. WARNING Danger from improper use! Dangers can arise and property damage can occur if the device is used improperly and/or in any other way.
Safety 2.5 Operator’s responsibility Since the device is used in the commercial sector, the operator of the device is subject to statutory occupational health and safety obligations. Besides the safety instructions in this operating manual, the safety, accident prevention and environmental protection regulations that apply to operation of the device must be observed.

Safety Staff taught, familiarized or currently undergoing general training must always be under the constant supervision of an experienced person when working on the machine. The system reports changes in the operating state, which allow conclusions to be drawn about the operation of the pump in relation to the permitted fields of application specified by the manufacturer.

Installation 5.4 Notes on installation ® The length of the standard sensor cable allows the SAFERUN CMS-T to be secured directly on the pump. Mounting directly on the pump Unscrew both screws from the bearing support. ® Fasten the SAFERUN CMS-T converter with the retaining plate on the bearing support with these screws and Loctite.
