Safety Safety This chapter provides important information on all safety aspects for optimal protection of personnel as well as safe and trouble- free operation. In addition to the specified in this chapter, basic safety precau- tions and instructions to special risks which are relevant for the safe handling of safety instructions are given in each action chap- ter.
Safety 2.1 Notes on safety The device complies with the general state of the art and has been designed and manufactured in compliance with all applica- ble regulations and guidelines. For safe handling of the device observe the following safety prin- ciple: Regularly check the unit for visible damage and defects.
Safety 2.2 Specific hazards The device itself is not harmful. Depending on the location, spe- cial safety regulations for occupational safety and accident pre- vention regulations for the application of the device shall apply. The device meets the requirements set out in Directive 94/9 / EC (ATEX 95) for use in explosion-proof environment.
Safety 2.3 Intended use SAFERUN® is determined to monitor the operating status of mag- netically coupled centrifugal pumps of the series MNK of Fa. Rich- ter Chemie-Technik GmbH. Any other use or extended use is considered improper. WARNING Danger from improper use!
Safety 2.5 Operator responsibility As the device is used in the commercial sector, the operator is subject to the legal obligations for occupational safety and health. In addition to the safety instructions in these operating instruc- tions that apply to the operation of the equipment safety, acci- dent prevention and environmental protection rules must be re- spected.

Safety 2.9 Ban on conversions Any conversions and modifications on the device are forbidden. The manufacturer assumes no liability for any resulting damages. 2.10 Spare parts WARNING Injury due to incorrect or faulty spare parts! Wrong or faulty spare parts may result in injury, dam- age, malfunction or total failure and compromise safety.
The system detected via sensors in the can SAFERUN® CMS-S act- ing on the magnetic coupling of the pump power and compares them continuously with reference values whose over- and under- shoot are reported as an event.

Layout and function CAUTION For local or foreign media flushing, a lack of lubrica- tion or dry-running of the plain bearings in the pump not be recognized. NOTE The flow is only a theoretical value! 3.2 Structure of the system The system consists of an integrated pump in the can of the sen- sor unit (can SAFERUN® CMS-S) and the externally mounted con- verter SAFERUN® CMS-T. Both units are coupled via a releasable cable connection.

The unit can be supplied with pump or individually. NOTE When ordering you can specify whether the converter SAFERUN® CMS-T is to be delivered with short or long sensor cable. Standard fitted with a short cable, con- verter SAFERUN® CMS-T on pump.
