When y ou ar e using t he Com pass Scr een t o s teer t o a des tina-
tion, y our goal is t o align t he Des tination P oint er and t he C OG
Point er t og e ther . When bo th of t hese point er s ar e lined up,
reg ardless of y our heading, y ou ar e mo ving in a s traight line t o
your des tination.
Here t he Des tination P oint er and t he C OG Point er nearl y line
up e xactl y and w e ar e mo ving in a s traight line t o t he des tina-
tion.
Note: The Destination Pointer points to North and the Destina-
tion Icon disappears when you do not have an active route or
GOTO.
The electr onic com pass r eq uires t hat it is r ecalibr ated every time y ou c hang e t he batt er ies.
Failur e t o calibr ate t he com pass could r esult in err ors of 20 ° or mor e t o t he displa yed
heading. Calibr ation is v er y sim ple and w on't take mor e t han a minut e.
It is very important that there are no metallic objects near the SporTrak Color during
this calibration.
1. Remo ve t he SporT rak Color from an y cr adle it ma y be in and la y it do wn f ace up
on an y flat, nonme tal sur face. Also y ou should no t be mo ving (i.e., in a car or
boat in mo tion) while calibr ating t he com pass. This will af fect t he calibr ation
causing err ors in t he com pass output.
2. T urn t he SporT rak Color on normall y and af ter an y of t he na vig ation scr eens ar e
displa yed, pr ess t he
