Preface

The Op erational Qu alification p erform ance test of the Au tom atic Polarim eter AP-300 is d escribed
herew ith.
The instru ctions below assu m e that the p erform ance test of the AP-300 is cond u cted by a regular
u ser of the u nit w ho is fam iliar w ith the op eration. For d aily check and m aintenance, please refer
to the Stand ard Op erational Proced u re d ocum ent (SOP).
1. Test En viron m en t an d Prep aration
Cond u ct the p erform ance test in an environm ent which m eets the cond itions ou tlined below .
Keep the m easurement sam ple and the AP-300 at an am bient temp erature of 18.0°C to 22.0°C
for at least 30 minutes to let them acclim ate to the am bient tem p eratu re.
If the following environm ental cond itions are not m et, an app rop riate m easu rem ent result
m ay not be obtained .
Environm ent for p erformance test
Am bient tem p eratu re: 18.0°C to 22.0°C
Pow er sup ply: AC 100 to 240V, 50/ 60H z
※ The Autom atic Polarim eter AP-300 shou ld be u sed ind oors and p laced on a flat,
level su rface, su ch as a w ork d esk or laboratory table.
2. Estab lish in g a D iscretion ary M easu rem en t Stan d ard
A p erform ance test requ ires a d iscretionary m easu rem ent stand ard .
Establish a set m easurement stand ard for you r sam ples, taking the accu racy of the AP-300
into accou nt. Please refer to the prod u ct literatu re and / or the instru ction m anu al for the
sp ecifications, featu res, and m easurem ent accu racy of the AP-300. These sp ecifications are
gu aranteed at the tim e the AP-300 is shipp ed as a brand -new prod u ct. It is d ifficu lt to obtain
an accuracy level greater than the prod u ct sp ecifications u nd er d ifferent environm ental
cond itions. It is recom m end ed setting the d iscretionary m easurement stand ard low er than the
stated sp ecifications.

Accu racy: Angle of rotation ±0.03°
3. Con firm ation of M easu rem en t Accu racy (Accu racy an d Rep eatab ility)
Check the accu racy (accuracy and rep eatability) of the m easu rem ent valu es by m easu ring a
sam ple of a know n concentration.
The AP-300 is an optical instru m ent d esigned to m easure the angle of rotation of a sam ple
solu tion by u tilizing tw o p olarizing plates.
